Our Dallas Police Officers have our utmost respect and gratitude for allowing us to feel safe in our city.
Thank you to all the first responders especially the officers of the Dallas Police Dept. for working tirelessly through some of the most challenging times one will ever face. Please know that your hard work and sacrifice is appreciated more than you know. Keep up the good work.
My grandson is now a proud Dallas Police Officer. I pray for all of the officers safety. You put your lives on the line for our safety and even though we are not in Dallas County, we are next to you. Be safe and God Bless.
Supporting the Officers Who Serve and Protect Dallas
Law enforcement officers serve and protect our communities. They face tremendous work-related challenges daily, often risking their lives to ensure our safety. When an officer is injured, a setback can bring financial ruin – especially if the officer is the sole provider for a family. During recovery, the last thing an officer should have to worry about is how he or she will make ends meet.
There are hundreds of officers and their families that need your assistance. The Assist the Officer Foundation is here to help. Please read the stories featured, and learn how you can help make a difference for a fallen officer. You will quickly discover that the men and women who serve you are very much like you…and need you, just as much as you need them.
Why Donate?
Since 1999, many individuals have benefited from Assist the Officer Foundation (ATO) and for good reason. It’s a proven organization with life changing results. As we meet with people, we are commonly asked why we need such a foundation? Don’t officers have great benefits and great insurance? That is quite the contrary! We can personally tell you that Police Officers work for the public and make great sacrifices in their daily lives. Officers commonly work long hours in very hazardous conditions. In a split second, their lives can be changed forever. What the public doesn’t know is that the city stops paying an officer when they are out of vacation and sick time. That is usually a result of an unforeseen circumstance like cancer, injury, family member sickness or death. This is why ATO was created and why there is such a great need for financial and emotional assistance for officers. One of many examples that I’ve used to explain how ATO works is that of a young officer who was battling cancer. The officer’s bills were overwhelming and his family didn’t know where to turn. ATO stepped in and helped the family through this tough stretch. Today, this Officer is rebounding in many ways knowing that the city, the community, his fellow officers and ATO stood by him and his family in a time of need.
